Emeco makes chairs in America. Often by hand, mostly from recycled stuff, but always to last.
Emeco began manufacturing in 1944 for the military with the Navy Chair that was, and still is, made from recycled aluminum. The Emeco collections have grown immensely to include some of the most iconic designs by some of the most renowned designers including Philippe Starck, Frank Gehry and Norman Foster. Today, Emeco uses a variety of reclaimed materials to support their initiative to be kind to the environment. The point is to make really good chairs, good means more than just for sitting.
